What can I use instead of wax for diamond painting

When you buy a diamond painting kit, it usually includes all of your diamond painting accessories such as wax, trays and canvas, but sometimes we may misplace the tools. If you are just starting a diamond painting project and you have misplaced the wax, here are some other tools and accessories available for your project.

What is the use of diamond painting wax?

Diamond painting wax is an important accessory that allows you to easily pick up each diamond and place it on the canvas. Many people think wax is used to help diamonds bond to the canvas, but this is not the case. The canvas is made with an adhesive that allows the diamonds to stick, which is why it is essential to cover the canvas with plastic sheeting when you are not working on your project. Wax is only used to help transfer diamonds to the canvas, however, if you run out or lose wax, you may quickly become frustrated trying to pick up each diamond without the help of wax. Instead, try using one of these to help.

Diamond Painting Wax Alternative

BLU TACK

Many of us have blue studs in our homes as household items for securing certain materials to walls or other items. Blu Tack is a clay or putty like substance that can be rolled up and reused many times so that it does not need to be replaced frequently, making it durable and convenient. People usually use BLU TACK to attach posters or photos to their walls, but you can use blue nails instead of wax when completing a diamond painting.

In fact, BLU TACK tends to work better than wax in these projects because it is stickier and lasts up to twice as long as regular wax. Simply apply it to the applicator tool as if you were using wax, and -- voila! You have a new way to apply diamonds.

Craft putty

Similar to Blu Tack, Craft Putty is another good choice. The main difference between the two types of goo is that craft putty tends to be a little more flexible, which may be easier to stick to your applicator tools. However, both options can work well as an alternative to wax. Craft putty, which you can find at any craft store, comes in long strips perforated into small squares. Keep some handy as you work on your project and dip your applicator tool into the putty before you use it to pick up the diamond.
